Summer Epic 8 was a blast!

Thanks to all who came out and participated in the Duke's Cycle Summer Epic 8 up at Hardwood Hills [just north of Barrie] this past Saturday. We had a great time and it was a lot of fun seeing so many new and familiar faces at the event.

The race course had something for everyone - fun flowing single-track, fast and furious descending, undulating climbs and swtich-backs.

Congratulations to Conrad "Speed Demon" Thompson, [seen above with Michael from Duke's and Rob from Cannondale] winner of a $1500 gift certificate towards the purchase of any

Cannondale bike from Duke's Cycle.

Special thanks all our sponsors and supporters and especially to Glenn & his crew @ Hardwood for designing a fantastic course and running a such great event. Also, thanks to Rob from Cannondale who came up and showcased an impressive set of fancy bikes.

Ground breaking at New Duke's Cycle, April 20th

On April 20th at 11:00am the ground was broken on the rebuilding of the new Duke’s Cycle at 625 Queen Street West, Toronto.

The past two years since the fateful fire on Queen Street that took down not only Duke’s Cycle but also most of the city block have been full of challenges for all concerned. However, from great tragedy comes great opportunity.

Gary Duke and his family have steadfastly held true to the belief that they would rebuild on the old site. On Tuesday, April 20th, this dream becomes reality. The Duke Family held a small ground-breaking ceremony on the site of the old store and give signal to the cycling community, and more importantly to the local Queen & Bathurst neighbourhood, that a new shop is going to soon rise from the ashes of the old.
